The tiny main island of Malta is quite a surprise. You would never think such a small, out of the way place could seem so hurried and busy. Leaving behind the ship I arrived on and heading towards the bus station, I got the feeling stopping to smell the roses would likely result in getting trampled. As the bus made it’s way out of the city, expertly navigating curved streets, steep inclines, bicyclists as well as horse drawn carriages and the other cars honking incessantly at them, things quickly became calmer. A short hike to the coast later, and you are treated to a sight that makes the hectic trip all worthwhile; a gorgeous ocean view.
